Deogyusan is more than Hyangjeokbong. At the southern end stands Namdeogyusan, 1,507 m, and from the lot behind Yeonggaksa in Hamyang the summit is 3.4 km away. The last climb past Yeonggaje ridge is steep, but at the top the main ridge runs away to the north. After snow, the path to Yeonggaje turns to ice.
