Halmibong is 2.3 km from the pass and the first summit of the Deogyusan ridge. You start on the old border between Yeongnam and Honam, and villages on both sides sit below you the whole way up. A good half-day when you lack the legs for Namdeogyusan. The rock sections are slick in rain.
