From the Yupyeong trailhead the path follows the stream a little over 6 km to Chibatmok shelter, then climbs over Jungbong for about 3.6 km to the summit. A separate 3.5 km of road runs from Daewonsa temple to Yupyeong, so without a car the day gets longer. It is one of the quietest ways up to Cheonwangbong, and you may pass only a handful of people.
