The 2.3 km from Sunduryu to Beopgyesa is fairly gentle, then a steep two-odd kilometres leads to the summit, 4.8 km one way in all. A village shuttle covers the lower road that walkers from Jungsan-ri would otherwise tackle on foot. Most people rest in the Beopgyesa courtyard before the hard part.
