From Jungsan-ri it is roughly 3.4 km one way via the Chilbawi junction to Beopgyesa, the last 2.1 km starting at the junction. It suits the day you lack the legs for the summit but want a real taste of Jirisan. The temple sits among the highest in Korea, so its courtyard view nearly rivals the peak.
