This is the hardest line on the mountain. From Sanasa you climb to the Gurumjae saddle and the 941 m top of Baegunbong, then cross Duribong, the 966 m Hamwangbong and the 1,065 m Janggunbong to reach Gaseopbong. The ridge is full of hard quartz-like rock, which slows you down. You come down on the Yongmunsa side, so the start and end differ and the ride back needs planning.
