From the top of Jungnyeong Pass you follow the quiet southern ridge of Sobaeksan out to Dosolbong, about 6 km each way and five-odd hours round trip. The Birobong crowds are absent, and once you are on the ridge both the Chungbuk and Gyeongbuk foothills roll out on either side. You can carry on to Myojeongnyeong and come down the other way.
