The classic Palgongsan route starts in the Donghwasa courtyard, passes Budoam and Yeombulam, then climbs to Dongbong. The first stretch follows a stream behind the temple; from Yeombulam rock appears and the grade steepens. From Dongbong, Birobong and Seobong line up and the Gwanbong peak shows on the far side.
