From Sangwonsa you climb Birobong, follow the ridge to Sangwangbong and Duryeong, then drop by the Bukdaesa road and return to where you started. The crowd thins out sharply once you leave Birobong. On the ridge the wind arrives before the view does, and the hills stack up between the trees. The Bukdaesa descent is a wide forest road: dull, but easy on the knees.
