This is the oldest way into the fortress. Past the Great West Gate you follow the stream, meeting Jungseongmun and the Jungheungsa temple site in turn as the path steepens. The last climb ends at the Daedongmun wall, from where you can drop toward Ui-dong. The easy first half warms you up, and it makes a natural start for a crossing to Ui-dong.
