Start at Baekhwasa near the fortress entrance and follow the valley upstream. This route reaches the Uisang ridge at Gasadang gate after a short, direct climb. The ridge comes much sooner than on the standard route from the Great West Gate. Several side paths branch off, so follow only the signposted one.
