You pass Geumdangsa from the south car park and climb into the forest. From the Biryongdae and Bongdubong lookouts the Tapyeongje pond and the Geumdang roofs lie right below. The drop from Bongdubong to Tapsa is steep, and the stone towers come into view all at once. It is harder than the flat south road, but this is the route that looks down on Maisan.
