This is the route up from the Seogwipo side. Past the 500 m ranger station you walk through camellia and hornbeam woods, then pass Sseogeunmultong and Salchaegi-do while the trees quietly change into Korean fir. From the Pyeonggwe shelter the ground levels out, and at Nambyeok Junction the wall of the crater rises in front of you. The trail ends there and does not continue to the lake. There is no spring, so water is the load.
