Starting above Sinam Reservoir, Yangju's Route 3 runs along the ridge over Akgwibong, Hyeongsobong and Janggunbong before reaching the summit, which takes in four of Gamaksan's five peaks in a single walk. The way down passes Imkkeokjeongbong, the sky viewpoint and the rock-face deck path. Unlike the short direct routes, this one needs a good part of the day. It was also the route used for the group climb on the day of the summit-stone ceremony.
