Park beside the small temple Donggwangjeongsa in Nam-myeon, Yangju, and follow the gully up. It is among the shortest ways up Gamaksan, about an hour at a brisk pace. The price is a lightly walked trail: in summer the grass reaches the knee and the line is hard to find. You come down the same way. If this is your first time on the mountain, the bridge side has a clearer path and is easier on the nerves.
