From the rest-area car park the steps begin almost at once. When your breath runs short you reach the ridge, and past Jungbong the last stretch eases. It is roughly 3.4 km one way, which is why people chasing several Yeongnam Alps peaks in a day choose it. Silver grass opens up just below the summit.
