From the valley entrance you pass Samhwasa and the old fortress site before the climb steepens toward the top. The first part runs beside the stream, then the path turns steeply uphill past the fortress walls. From the summit the Baekdudaegan ridge rolls toward Cheongoksan. Far fewer people make it up here than stay in the valley.
