From the valley entrance the trail follows the stream past Haksodae to Yongchu Falls, then climbs to the Baktaljeong gap. The last stretch from the gap to the Cheongoksan summit is a gentle rise with a boulder field, about 40 minutes. It is quieter than the fortress-ruins route up Dutasan, and from the gap you can branch over to Dutasan. The notice board gives 12 km and 3 h 40 min, but trip reports run longer.
