From the pass the trail passes Tonggoljae to the summit, then drops toward the Dutasan fortress ruins, Haksodae falls and Samhwasa before ending at the valley entrance. The climb is gentle because you start high; the descent runs over rocky ground into the valley and keeps your feet busy for hours. Hiking-club guides rate it about 13 km at medium-hard. A branch from the summit down past Beteul Peak and Beteul Rock exists, but it adds a lot of time.
