This is the quieter Uijeongbu entrance, far from the Dobongsan station crowds. From Mangwolsa station you pass the Um Hong-gil memorial hall and walk the road for about 15 minutes to the Wondobong ranger post, where the valley begins. A bridge and a waterfall lead into forest, and after the 0.9 km sign steep stone steps take over. Toad Rock and the Deokje spring come just before the temple gate. It is about 2 km and roughly 1h20 one way from the station, and you come back the same way. With energy to spare, the Podae ridge starts behind the temple.
