The Uijeongbu route up Sapaesan, the peak at the head of the ridge that runs on to Dobongsan. From the Hoeryong ranger post you pass Hoeryong falls to the Hoeryong crossroads, about 2 km: the first kilometre is a soft forest path, the second is steep. From the crossroads the ridge to the summit eases off. After the top you return to the crossroads, pass Hoamsa temple and finish at the Beomgol gate. Beomgol station is a 20-minute walk from there, Hoeryong station 25.
