Around Hoeryong station, Howon-dong, Uijeongbu

From Hoeryong station you pass the primary school into the Hoeryong ranger post, climb past the Seokgul hermitage of Hoeryongsa to the Sapaesan fortress site, then the 552 m summit, with the Dobong ridges laid out ahead. The Podae ridge follows, past the Podae viewpoint and the Y Valley post to Sinseondae (726 m), then down by Seonin rest area, Madang Rock and Cheonchuksa to Dobongsan station. One trail report walked these 12.7 km in 6h42 including lunch and rests.
