From Piamokjae you pass Hwalmokjae and the west summit, touch Unjangdae, then follow the ridge past Bokdubong down toward Gubongsan. Hiking clubs run it as a day trip: about 14.6 km, roughly 8 hours with breaks. The ridge links up nicely, so people use it to tick off two famous peaks in one go. You finish at the Gubongsan car park, so your car or bus has to meet you there.
