This 8.5 km route skips the Munjangdae crowds and stays on Songnisan's northern ridge. From Unheung village hall or Yonghwajeong Park you climb over Sangmobong, Sanghakbong and Myobong, cross Bukgachi Pass and drop to Yonghwa village. Plenty of wooden decking makes the rocky ridge easy on the feet. Myobong has a 300-person daily reservation limit, so book first.
