From the Choamsa guard post the route runs past Choamsa temple and Bongdu Rock up to Gukmangbong, 7.3 km and about three hours ten up. It starts over stream boulders, moves into forest, and finally gains the ridge. From the top you see the long crest toward Birobong. Reservations apply on this section at times, so check before you set out.
