From the Donghaksa car park you walk west past the Cheonjeong ranger station into the Cheonjeonggol valley, cross Mungol and Keunbaejae, and climb to Sambulbong by Nammaetap. Then comes the Jayeonseongneung ridge to Gwaneumbong, and a descent past Eunseon Falls and down the Donghaksa valley: 9.5 km in all. The valley is gentle on the way up and hard on the knees coming down. One recent write-up finished in under six hours, lunch included.
