From Hopo Station the first hour is a gentle climb. At the broad flat rock you look over Yangsan, Gimhae and the Nakdong River. Further up, a small monk's dwelling sits under a big boulder, and just beyond it comes the Gate of Sky, a rock gap with wind pouring through. After that the ridge turns to rock, with a handful of rope pulls. Once the path eases you pass the Geumsaem spring and reach Godangbong. Far fewer people come this way than from Beomeosa.
