The walk starts at the car park by the Turtle Rock rest stop and follows the Ungye ridge over Kkachibong to the summit, 4.2 km in all. It is longer than the Beomnyunsa spring route and suits people who want rock under their boots. A viewing rest spot sits just before Kkachibong, and along the ridge blade-like rocks and pines line the path. From Kkachibong to the top the going eases. New wooden steps and railings went in on the steep stretch in 2025, so it climbs easier than it used to.
