You start in the temple grounds and pass Yongsu Falls, the Miwangjae silver grass field and Hyangnobong on the way to Gujeongbong. The south side is gentle but long. In autumn the Miwangjae field turns silver. Reaching Cheonhwangbong from here means a long drop to Baram Pass and a climb back up, so many hikers turn around at Gujeongbong.
