Unaksan hike info

Unaksan is only 934.7 m, but your eyes keep catching on rock as you climb. Eyebrow Rock, Maitreya Rock and the Folding Screen Rock stand in a row, with iron stairs and cables stitching the route together. That is why it counts among Gyeonggi's five great peaks and is nicknamed the little Diamond Mountain.

Halfway up sits Hyeondeungsa, a temple more than a thousand years old; the mountain was once also called Hyeondeungsan after it. Below it a waterfall called Baengnyeon Falls drops through the valley, and in autumn the colour spreads between the rock walls. Near the top you see the Gapyeong plain to the south and Myeongjisan and Hwaaksan to the north.

On the Pocheon side, a cloud walkway opened in September 2026: boardwalks and a suspension bridge along cliffs at about 800 m. The Gapyeong side has its own 210 m suspension bridge, 50 m above the valley. The rock sections get slick after rain, so pick your weather.
