This is the first of eight Palgongsan Wanggeon Trail sections. It begins at the memorial site of General Sin Sung-gyeom, who died saving King Wang Geon, then passes the visitor center, Wonmojae and a lookout before crossing Yeoljae. At 4.3 km and about 1 hour 15 minutes it is a moderate foothill walk. Use it as a warm-up before the ridges or as a half-day history stroll.
