Mountainside temple with a Gungye legend and a book-shaped rock

Address
71 Sanjeong-ri, Yeongbuk-myeon, Pocheon-si

A temple set on the foot of Myeongseongsan. It moved to this spot in 1964 and houses a stone Maitreya over five metres tall. Behind the main hall stands a rock shaped like an open book, and a rock tied to the Gungye and Wang Geon legend sits inside the grounds. Good for a quiet stop when you want the mountain without the grass-field crowds.
