The entrance is a narrow alley beside an apartment block. The path climbs steeply to Jatgogae, where the remains of Mujin fortress sit on the pass. It continues past the East Gate site and the Cheongpung rest stop with its Kim Satgat poem stone, drops to Chungjangsa, crosses the boulder field below Wonhyobong, and finishes at the Mudeungsanjang lodge and the Wonhyosa gate. This is a trail across the lower mountain rather than a summit route, so there is no need to hurry.
