The classic route starts at the Yonghwasa plaza, passes Gwaneumsa and the Mireukjae saddle to the top, then circles back via Mireuksa or the Ttibatdeung ridge. The first part is forest and the last stretch near the top turns to rock. Allow about two and a half hours. At the summit the island sea opens at once.
