You leave the Jeongsusa car park through forest, reach the ridge, then follow bare rock to the helipad and the altar. There is no queue like on the stair route. Near the top the slabs and rock ridge begin, and the trail fades in places; hikers have lost the way coming down here. On a first visit, use it for the climb and descend by the Dangun or stair route.
