From the Ansaengdal lot you climb to the summit, follow the Maetdeungbawi ridge past the lookout and Jakeun Chagatjae, then drop back to the same village in a 5.6 km loop. The first 2.4 km to the top is steady uphill and gets your breathing going early. After that come iron stairs and a narrow boardwalk on the ridge, and the way down is a rocky valley path. You finish where you parked, which makes this the most walked route on the mountain.
