Hwaaksan (Jungbong) itineraries

Tunnel to Jungbong

Drive to the tunnel, walk a 4-hour round trip to Jungbong, eat pine-nut noodles at the foot of the mountain. Start early and you are back in Seoul before dark.

Jomurak traverse

Up Jungbong and 12 km down a stream valley. Sleep in Gapyeong, then unwind next day with a waterfall, noodles and a lakeside cafe.

Hwaaksan to Chuncheon

Climb Jungbong on day one, then drift through Gapyeong's river island, noodles and a lakeside, ending in Chuncheon and a river island in Hwacheon.
