Past the village marker and an old inn site, a mostly flat forest path heads for Horigol pass. About an hour in you reach a ridge with a large grave, and another 50 minutes brings Madang Rock with a dead pine. The summit is five minutes on but sits in oak forest with little view. Drop about 100 m to see the Huiyangsan cliff and Bongamsa across the gap.
