From the Anyang Art Park lot the path enters the forest by Anyangsa, passes lookouts and rest stops, and climbs to Sammaksa. The temple sits about eight-tenths of the way up Samseongsan, and legend says the monk Wonhyo built a hermitage here with two companions. The lower stretch beside the stream is gentle enough for children, then steepens near the temple. From its yard you see Anyang spread out and open sky toward the west. Plan 3 to 4 hours round trip, with Samseongsan's summit as an extension if your legs allow.
