You start at the Yun-gang Yi Gang-nyeon Memorial Hall and enter the Seonyudong valley. The first 4 km to Hakcheonjeong pavilion is almost flat, with broad rock slabs and clear water beside the path. Four characters, meaning the mountain is high and the water long, are carved into the cliff there. The path then runs on into the Yongchu valley, past Mudangso pool, the heart-shaped pool of Yongchu Falls and the Wolyeongdae slabs, and ends at the Daeyasan car park. You never go near the summit.
