Cheonmasan itineraries
Up Sujinsa, down Machi
Climb from the Hopyeong side, scramble past Kkeokjeong Rock to the summit, then drop down the far side to Machi Pass. You never retrace a step, and the day ends with tofu hotpot in Maseok.
Palhyeon and the river
Day one follows the gentler valley route to the summit and a night in a forest cabin. Day two drops down to Seojong on the Bukhan River for bread and coffee.
Machi Pass to Gapyeong
Day one is the Machi Pass loop from the Hwado side with Maseok noodles after. Day two passes the Sujongsa lookout and Yangsu-ri on the way up to Gapyeong, and day three ends in pine-nut country.
