This is the approach from the Cheonmasan station side. You start near Machi Pass and the training-centre ranger office, climb to the ridge, pass the helipad above the ski slopes and reach the top. Many people continue over to Hopyeong-dong. Arrive by train and descend the other side and you never need a car.
