Baegunsan (Jeongseon) itineraries
Chiljokryeong in a day
An 8 km loop up to Chiljokryeong, where the Dong River bends below your boots. Afterwards you tear into buckwheat pancakes at the Jeongseon market and rest your legs at a window-seat cafe.
Summit, then a Jeongseon night
Climb straight to the summit from Munhui on day one, sleep in a Jeongseon hanok, and ride the boat into Baengnyong Cave the next morning. Hike and cave get a day each, so nothing is rushed.
Fortress, ridge, Yeongwol
Warm up with a fortress and a market on day one, walk the Chiljokryeong ridge early on day two, and finish in Yeongwol where King Danjong was exiled. Walking days alternate with easy ones.
